Martha also loved herself a good treat of ice cream. She’d often take a bowl to bed 😀 ~ Sonnika Venter

Rhoda Jacobs always went on dates with our grandparents and my grandfather had to pay for her movie tickets ect.
Rhoda and her siblings had a rule – SOS – snatch or starve!
The De Beer siblings loved going to the Jacobs house because they didn’t have to have table manners ~ Elzje Van Rooyen
A story I remember about your mom Colleen is that she was born with a whole close to her spine and she escaped physical punishment by saying “my gat, my gat” ~ Elzje Van Rooyen (About one of Martha’s Sisters)
Yip my Mom was strong she was not well but like Aunty Martha very strong full of fun and laughter so kind. Aunty Martha never forgot my sons birthday Quintin and mine and she never called us in April, I should have known that somthing was wrong. I think my Mom made you a smock dress. Do you remember. ~ Colleen
~ Alet Viljoen
Auntie Martha was my second Mom and she called me her daughter. That’s because when I was a couple of months old. My Mom and Dad (Teresa and Tookie) went on holiday and left me with Auntie Martha, uncle Dave and Leon. Then she looked after me again when I left Zimbabwe in 1976, I lived with them for a while in Kempton.
Many happy memories of sitting on the kitchen benches drinking hugh quarts of beer with them. I will miss her dearly.
